Analogue (US: analog)

The method used for calls with 1G phones, which works by translating voice calls into electronic signals of different frequency and/or amplitude. In some countries, analogue services may offer better coverage than digital networks due to being better established, though transmissions are notoriously insecure and more prone to interference. Analogue systems include AMPS, NMT and ETACS.
